Thumbs up Answer: x bar, y bar, etc.

To type characters like x bar (also known as x̄), you can use the Equation feature in Microsoft Word. Here's how:
  1. Click on the Insert tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  2. Click on Equation in the Symbols section.
  3. A new Equation Tools tab will appear in the ribbon. Click on Accent in the Structures section.
  4. Select Bar from the list of accents.
  5. Type the letter you want to put the bar over (in this case, "x").
  6. The bar will appear over the letter.

You can also use this method to type other characters with accents or other diacritical marks, such as ā, ê, or ñ. Just select the appropriate accent from the Accent menu and type the letter you want to modify.

I hope this helps you with your work!
