How do I get rid of text boxes and leave the text?
I am editing a document that was scanned and converted using ocr software.
Some of the text was brought in in text boxes. I need to elimnate the text boxes and keep the text. I know that I can copy the text and paste it outside the box. But, is there a simpler way? |

How do I get rid of text boxes and leave the text?
In a scanned document, there's a good chance the boxes are actually frames
rather than text boxes (if they have black square handles when selected, they're frames). If so, you can very likely remove the frame by selecting the text and pressing Ctrl+Q. If you Ctrl+A first, you'll remove all the frames in the document. This can be risky, since the text will appear in the order in which the frames were anchored to text paragraphs (which may not be the order wanted). If they're actually text boxes, you can convert them to frames and then remove them the same way. Or you can cut the text from each "box," paste it outside and delete the text box or frame. -- Suzanne S.
