Default Outline view: How to control amount of indentation?

Is there a way to control the amount by which each outline level is
indented in outline view?

No, the indents for a particular outline level in Outline view are
determined by Word. What you can do is set "true" indents via the Paragraph
dialog box.

Alternatively, if you are creating a numbered outline, use the Customize
Outline Numbered List dialog box (Word 97-2003) or the Define New Multilevel
List dialog box (Word 2007). For the general principles, see
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numb...Numbering.html. If you are
using Word 2007 and need further assistance, post back.

Stefan Blom,

Your follow-up shows up in GoogleGroups as an entry in the tree, but
the actual post doesn't appear. Would you mind reposting? Thanks.

Stefan,

I managed to view your post via another reader.

Would I be correct in concluding that the solutions using the
Paragraph dialogue box and Outline Numbered Lists do not apply to
Outline View?

Yes, Outline view displays the hierarchy of text based on the *outline level*
(as defined in the Paragraph dialog box), while indentation for numbered
lists is a different setting.
