Default lost symbols

Yesterday I was able to access all the symbols (greek, latin, mathematical,
etc. etc.). I finished the job and today I am marking corrections to it, but
I'm unable to access any symbols except those under the "symbols" tab.
Trying to change the heading to Times Roman (the font I'm using) causes Word
to crash. Were gremlins at work overnight? Have I been corrupted, and if so
how do I uncorrupt?

Default lost symbols

Try changing to "(normal text)" instead.
