AutoText AutoComplete
The AutoText is not working. If I create a new autotext entry and name it
"signature" when I type in "signature" it does not autocomplete. The only way I can insert the autotext is by typing signature and then hitting F3. It seems as if the autocomplete is not turning on. But the "autocomplete" check box is checked under the autotext menu. Can anyone help? |

We have hopes that it can be restored in some future service pack, but Microsoft hasn't made any promises about that. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

AutoText AutoComplete
In that case, you may have a problem in the Data key in the registry where Word
stores that setting. Read http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/Custom...eySettings.htm. Read the whole article first, especially the section "How to preserve your Settings preferences". Then follow the instructions in the "Deleting and recreating the corrupt registry values" section of http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErr...ngMenusEtc.htm to delete the Settings value inside the Data key.
