Default How can I open an attached file with extension ".wps" in Word 200

I recieved email with an attachment. The extension is ".wps" (Works
document, I think) When I try to open the attachment, it opens my Word 2003,
but it is blank.
How do I open a Works document in Word 2003?

I have had success with simply renaming the file from filename.wps to
filename.doc and then open with word.

Tried that. It is in such a format as to be unreadable, and part is just
symbols.

Are you sure that the Works file isn't blank? (There are some people who
know very little about computers and they send all kinds of wrong files.)

It is a report, sent to a committee. Others got it, but they have Works

I know that I can covert Word to a Works doc but I've never tried the other
direction.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

Try this converter. I know it says Word 2002 but it may work.

You need the appropriate filter for the Works version that created the
files - see http://www.gmayor.com/downloads.htm
