What about footnotes?
Did Microsoft ever fix the bug in Word that causes footnotes to appear
at the bottom of a page different from the page on which the numbered reference appears? |

What about footnotes?
Supposedly, but in come cases Word can still get confused, as I can attest.
I've been working with a 600+ document with 500 footnotes, some of them quite long, and I did have to tweak some of the page breaks to make things come out right. Not having started out with Exact line spacing (the document evolved into something a lot more elaborate than I'd originally planned), I found it too daunting to go back and change all my styles, so I didn't try that fix, and I found that the Compatibility Option had no effect at all (for what I'm talking about, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...OnDiffPage.htm -- Suzanne S. In Word 2007, click the References tab, and then click Insert Footnote. To
set footnote options, you can right-click a footnote, and choose Note Options from the context menu. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "priji" wrote in message news how do you add footnotes in microsoft word? -- priji |

And in previous versions, it's Insert | Reference | Footnote. Once you've
made your selections with regard to where the footnotes will appear and how they will be numbered, you can use Ctrl+Alt+F to insert a new footnote. -- Suzanne S.
