Default Two styles in the same paragraph

Someone told me that there's a way to have two styles in the same paragraph
by inserting a code between them. I can't seem to figure this out - is
there actually a way to do it? (It's Office 2003).

Thanks in advance,
Dave

Brialliant! That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for the
excellent (not to mention speedy) response.
