Default Testing mergedata to prevent printing a document

Does anyone know of a way to test data in a mergefield and prevent printing
the document if data matches the tested criteria. I have tried an if
statement with STOP as what to do if the criteria are met but
unfortunately this doesn't work. Any ideas?

Hi,

OctoTools, a commercial document management software, has this capability
and could be justified if you have a medium to high volume application or
need an automated solution. Let me know if you have any interest. Phone

Well, you could set a QueryOption to simply suppress any records that meet
the criterium...

Other than that, you'd need to use VBA to test the data before allowing the
merge to execute. Or, perhaps even better, check the data before allowing it
to be connected to the main merge document, which would prevent the user from
printing the main merge document, itself, with data displaying.
