Creating labels in Word 2003
How do I get the guiding gray lines to appear when creating labels so I can
see where I'm typing. It was there before but now it's a blank page. |

First, I never recommend typing directly into labels unless you will NEVER
use the data again. Use a Word table or Excel spreadsheet to enter your text and then mail merge to labels. This way, you can use your data again for other purposes, like a different label layout, later. To get the lines, though, choose Table from the menu, then Show Gridlines. ************ Anne Troy www.OfficeArticles.com "tigero" wrote in message ... I want to type directly to the label because I will not use the data again.
I select ToolsLetters & MailingsEnvelopes & Labels. Click labels tab Click Options Select under product number, your label number (i.e. 5160) Click OK Click New Document At this point, I should be able to see the grayed-out outline of the label template. I don't see the outline anymore. The grayed-out outline helps you type your data in the correct label and how it will look. This grayed-out outline does not print. It's a guideline. How do I get the grayed-out outline to appear? Thanks. "Anne Troy" wrote: First, I never recommend typing directly into labels unless you will NEVER use the data again. Anne already told you: Click on Show Gridlines on the Table menu.
