field codes in word
i have a document with field codes in it for the figures and tables. the
problem is that when i have to move the figure or table around then the numbering gets all messed up. how do i move things around and not mess up the numbering? |

If you're using the codes properly, that should not occur. Move them around,
hit Ctrl+A, then F9, and the numbering should all update to be sequential. If you do this often, like I do sometimes, you might want to put a button on your toolbar to update all the fields for you.
