How does one symbolize a vector in Word?
I'm writing a scientific paper and want to symolize a character as a vector
with a arrow above the character. Is that possible to do in Microsoft Word, Office 2000? Thanks you for your concern, Kristinn |

You can use an EQ field to superimpose any two glyphs, such as an arrow and
a character. "Kristinn" wrote in message ... I'm writing a scientific paper and want to symolize a character as a vector with a arrow above the character. Is that possible to do in Microsoft Word, Office 2000? Thanks you for your concern, Kristinn |

For more on the EQ field, see

How does one symbolize a vector in Word?
Thank you Stefan Blom and Jezebel.
The field and option inserted either manually or by mouse clicks do appear like in the instructions pointed out below, but the result in print preview or on the printer is not as expected. The EQ field delimiters disappear, but what is written in the bracket following the \O just stay like it is written. So, it is not working as expected so far. Any ideas are appreciated? Hard to tell from that description what you're doing wrong, EQ fields *do*
work. Read the overbar article again, perhaps. "Kristinn" wrote in message ... Thank you Stefan Blom and Jezebel. On the Tools menu, click Options. Click the Print tab. Make sure that
the "Field codes" option is cleared, and then click OK. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Kristinn" wrote in message ... Thank you Stefan Blom and Jezebel.
