Find text doesn't work in Word in text copied from other document
I have a document in which I cut-and-pasted paragraphs from a document I
received from someone else. The find function is not finding text in the copied sections. The formats are the same and I can't see any parameter that differs between the sections I wrote and the pasted sections. |

In your Find dialog, reveal the Advanced settings and check that all of them
are OFF. Also: be careful of hidden spaces. Spaces do not show in the Find dialog but they are significant (they do count...) With the advanced settings visible, also click on "No Formatting" in case
your Find is being limited to certain formats only. -- Enjoy, Tony "John McGhie [MVP - Word and Word Macintosh]" wrote in message ... Thanks for the suggestion, but I'd already done this. In any case, the
problem corrected itself magically after I exited Word and restarted. Are you sure the pasted text is text and not a graphic?
