Default changing default settings bullets and numberiing in word 2003

I know that you can change the settings for the bullet points, but what I
can't figure out is how or even if you can actually change from the pre-set
default bullet points to your own...make sense?

Hi Tammy

You can't change Word's default settings for bullets.

You can, however, set up the built-in List Bullet styles to suit your needs.
For more information, see
How to control bullets in Microsoft Word

Hope this helps.
