last modified date in word footer
I would like to include a "Last Modified Date and Time" in the footer of a
Word document. I would like for this footer to be updated only when a change is made to the document, not when the document is just opened, nor if it is opened and printed. Further, even if the document is opened, printed, and saved with no changes, I do not want the date and time in the footer to update. A corresponding question and answer for Excel is contained at: http://www.officekb.com/Uwe/Forum.as...-Custom-Footer Is there a similar solution in Word? Thanks very much for your help. |

All that is available is the last saved date. Which will not be accurate if
you type modifications and print. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! Is it also true that, using Last Saved Date, if I re-saved the document
without changes that the date in the footer would be updated? If so, that would also not be what I am looking for. I guess I'm wondering if there might be an add-in (or automatic macro), similar to the one noted for doing this same thing in Excel(?). Word won't save an unchanged document; the problem is that Update Fields
(which happens at print time) is considered a change. -- Suzanne S.
