Default drop down field

Is there a way to make one of the drop down choices underlined and one not
underlined so that you can pick either or??

I don't believe there's any way to apply formatting to drop-down list field
items directly. I had thought it might be possible to use & to underline one
or more characters, but apparently this doesn't work in drop-down list
fields.
