Can I create text that is conditional on text elsewhere in Word
I am wondering how to create text in one portion of a document that is
dependent on text elsewhere in the document. For example I want to put in my sentence refer to section 17.2, but during all the editting and changes to the document the section I am actually wanting to refer to is now numbered 19.2. Is there a way to link text in one place to text in another so that if it gets changed (manually or automatically) that the text elsewhere gets changed as well? Thanks. |

Use Insert | Reference | Cross-reference. Cross-references are
actually REF fields, which update when you print or print preview. You can force an update of all fields at any time: just select the whole document and press F9. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "tjl128" wrote in message ...
