Default How do I create a multi page template?

I am wondering if anybody knows how to create a multi page template. By multi
page I mean that I want one graphic watermark on the first page then a
different one on page 2 and up. If you have any insight or work around let me
know. I have tried multiple approaches like making a macro and having it load
the pictures seperately but then I run into issues with margins on the two
pages. The first page has the company logo top center and the address bottom
center. The second page has only a border around it. The margins are
completely different on the two pages.

Thumbs up Answer: How do I create a multi page template?

Creating a multi-page template with different watermarks on each page
  1. Open a new Word document and create the first page of your template with the desired watermark and margins. You can do this by going to the "Design" tab, selecting "Watermark," and choosing the image you want to use. To adjust the margins, go to the "Page Layout" tab and click on "Margins."
  2. Once you have the first page set up the way you want it, go to the "Insert" tab and click on "Page Break" to create a new page.
  3. On the second page, go to the "Design" tab and select "Watermark" again. This time, choose the second image you want to use as the watermark for this page.
  4. Adjust the margins for the second page by going to the "Page Layout" tab and clicking on "Margins." You may need to experiment with different margin settings to get the layout you want.
  5. Repeat steps 2-4 for any additional pages you want to add to your template, using different watermarks and margin settings as needed.
  6. Once you have all of your pages set up the way you want them, go to the "File" tab and select "Save As." Choose "Word Template" as the file type and give your template a name.
  7. To use your new template, go to the "File" tab and select "New." Look for your template under "Personal" or "Custom" templates and click on it to create a new document based on your template.

I hope this helps you create the multi-page template you need with different watermarks on each page. Let me know if you have any other questions or need further assistance.

Take a look at: How to set up letterhead or some other document where you
want one header on the first page and a different header on other pages.
http://www.addbalance.com/word/headersfooters.htm This gives step-by-step
instructions. (It also has the following links)

Some other pages to look at:

Letterhead Tips and Instructions

Letterhead Textboxes and Styles tutorial

Template Basics

How to Create a Template - Part 2 - essential reading
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/Custom...platePart2.htm

Word "Forms"
http://www.addbalance.com/word/wordw...rces.htm#Forms and

Word for Word Perfect Users
http://www.addbalance.com/word/wordperfect.htm if you are coming from a WP
environment (or even if you are not).

If you are interested in creating templates that will work with the letter
wizard or use that wizard, you should look at the chapter on Advanced
Document Formatting in Using Office 2003 (or whatever your version is),
Special Edition, by Ed Bott and Woody Leonhard. It has detailed instructions
including instructions on getting the fields you want from your Outlook
Contacts for addressing a letter. (Chapter 19 of SE Using Office 2003) You
should be able to get this through your public library or at Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/IS...ncecheckbookA/

Finally, take a look at the letter templates that come with Word. While they
are no great shakes as letterhead, they do use styles and AutoText lists
very well. If you use the same style names that are used in those templates
in your own letterhead for the same parts of the document, you will have
better luck with using the built-in AutoText entries in Word.

Hope this helps,
