Default How to turn off the design mode go away by default when I open a .

When I open a word document which has checkboxes but everytime I open the
document it opens in the design mode. I can just click on Exit Design Mode to
come out of it but is there a permanent way to turn off the Design Mode
everytime I open the document?

I take it you inserted the checkboxes from the Controls Toolbox? Then your macro
security is set to "High". These kinds of controls include a VBA element that
will activate macro security. Change the setting to "Medium" so that you can
choose to trust the macros in the document. (Tools/Macro/Security)
