Default Macros still work in .docx file!

Hey everyone,

Office 2007; Vista Enterprise. Seems like an easy answer, but I can't
figure it out! I open a .docx file and create a new Macro. Save it as a
docX file. No warnings or prompts appear upon saving. Close it - reopen
it...and the Macros work fine.

My issue: why are Macros even THERE if it's saved as a DOCX file and NOT a
docM file? I thought you HAD to save something as docm in order to keep the
Macros. Otherwise (i.e. if you save as just docX), they will get removed.
But this isn't happening. They still exist AND work just fine despite the
fact its a docx file. Why?

Thanks!
Joe

Almost certainly you have saved the macro in the normal template and not in
the document.

But note that you can still *create* macros in a *.docx file. You get a
warning when/if you try to save the file, though.
