[Shitbiscuit]

When I highlight some text and then press either delete or backspace, the
text stays and the cursor just jumps to the beginning of the
previously-highlighted text. Does anybody know just what is going on here?

Word 97/2000/2002/2003: In Tools | Options, Edit tab, check the "Typing
replaces selection" option and click OK.
