Default A field calculation error occurred in record 1

I am getting this message and am not doing any calculations. I am just
merging data. Very simple. However I did find that this documnent (which was
sent to me from the state of Texas) has some macros that are not accessable.
I just got the idea to check from something I read in this group. Is there a
way to get rid of thes macros? Maybe this is what is causing the problem.

Thanks,

Sorry everyone. Word 2000. I am doing a form letter filled in from a
datasource built by my database program. I use this method on many many
documents. this is the only time I have had any problems at all. I tried
making removing all but the first page to try to simplify. but I just don't
know how to track down a "field calculation" error.

Thanks in advance,

Ok, I found a fix. When the document merges, I get the error. But when I
close the error, the merged document is there looking just fine. So I saved
the new document and then rebuilt it as the merge document. Apparently the
new document does not carry the macros or the errors with it.

Thanks for looking.
