After selecting text, adding a 3d border; how is it CROPPED to closely

Using the Options... button in the Borders and Shading dialog, you can set
the "Distance from text" for a paragraph border. If text is centered and doesn't run the full width of the line, you'll need to add paragraph indents on both sides to bring the border in. -- Suzanne S.
