Default Carriage return mark

I am using Office 2007. When I start a blank page of a new Word document,
the first line shows a carriage return mark and another carriage return mark
will be produced when I type the letters to the 2nd line and repeat it on
each line. Can someone advise me how to hide the carriage return mark to
give me a clean page to produce a new document.

Thanks,

Scott

Default Carriage return mark

Click on the button (on the Home tab) that has the same icon. For more, see
