Default Why am I loosing hyperlinks when I move Word document to differen.

I created word document that contains hyperlinks to another word document.
When I moved one document to different folder, all my hyperlinks were lost
and I got a pop-up saying: Cannot Open the specified file..
I was wondering if anyone knows why that happens?

Each hyperlink includes the path to the linked Word document. If you
move the linked document, you have to edit the hyperlinks to point to
the new path. Open the document that contains the hyperlinks, and press
Alt+F9 to turn on display of field codes. Where you have hyperlinks in
the document, you will see fields that look something like { HYPERLINK
C:\Path\LinkedDocumentName.doc } . In each hyperlink field, change the
path to point to the new path where you moved the linked document.
