How to change default window open size?
How do I change the default size of my window? It seems that when I make the
window smaller to view something else for a second, all the documents I open after that, will open in the smaller size windows. Its a pain to always have to hit Maximize to get to the size I normally view things in. How do I change this? |

How to change default window open size?
Word uses the size of the current window to determine the size of new
ones. This becomes obvious if you use the Tile Vertically command on the taskbar to view documents side by side; just closing the documents will re-use their size as you create new ones (even if you also exited Word). So, what you can do, when you are done with your smaller window, is to make sure that you maximize it before closing it; then subsequently opened windows should have the correct size. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "MrsTrajan" wrote in message ... How to change default window open size?
Thanks. That seems decpetively simple. Does the same hold true in Internet
Explorer? I often get smaller windows opening up there as well. Or is that a function of the way the page is designed? "MrsTrajan" wrote: How do I change the default size of my window? How to change default window open size?
One annoyance of IE is that you can't force it to open maximized. But you
*can* drag the Normal window to fill the entire screen, and then IE windows will open "maximized" except in cases where the window size is defined (as in the case of popups or other new windows generated by clicking on links). -- Suzanne S.
