Word 2002 page number missing
At the bottom of the Word 2002 the page numbers are 'grayed out'.
Wiil some kind person please advise me on, how to cause page numbers to be displayed? Many thanks drybones |

Word 2002 page number missing
I assume that you mean when viewed on the screen, not when printed out.
That is the way it is. When in the Header and Footers are not being displayed via ViewHeaders and Footers, they are greyed out to distinguish them from the text in the body of the document. -- Hope this helps. Word 2002 page number missing

At the very bottom of the displayed Word program, with a blank sheet or other Word files, there is a (taskbar ?) that runs full length across it. This entire bar is greyed out. No, page numbers, Sec, At, Ln, Col, REC TRK, or OVR displayed or are clickable. Only the open book is clickable. drybones "Doug Robbins - Word MVP" wrote in message ... Sounds like you might be in "Web Layout View". However, even then, teh REC,
TRK, EXT and OVR are clickable (though they appear greyed out (as they do in any other view until clicked). -- Hope this helps.
