Default Removing a page

All,

This should be so simple but i am struggling to find out how I can remove a
page for word.

The document in question is 25 pages long and has a number of sections. I am
trying to remove page 9 from the document. The document also has page numbers
so page 10 will have to be page 9 and so on. The document has headers and
footers.

Page 8 is in section 2 and page 9 (the one I am trying to remove) is in
section 3. I have removed all content from page 9 and I am now left with a
header and a footer on a blank page.

The problem is, is that I cannot remove the header and footer from the page.
But I don't even know if that would allow me to delete the page anyway.

The is what I have done.

1) Removed content from page 9
2) Clicked on show and hide breaks
3) Removed content in headers and footers
4) I have unlinked to previous on the header and footer on page 9

When I highlight the breaks in the header and footer and then press delete
nothing happens!

How do I remove the page and then link page 8 and 10 together with page 10
then being page 9?

You help would be appreciated as this is driving me nuts!!!!

Many thanks,

Luke

Default Removing a page

Using the FilePage Setup dialog, with the selection in Page 9, change the
Section start attribute to Continuous.

You probably have it set to Next Page and in addition, the first paragraph
on Page 10 may be formatted to have a page break before it.
You may also have a superfluous hard page break in there somewhere.

You shouldn't have to delete header (and footer) contents separately,
since the page will disappear anyway when it is completely blank. See
http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/BlankPage.htm. See also
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting...thSections.htm, which
describes possible issues when deleting section breaks.

Default Removing a page

Doug,

Thanks for the response. Just a quick question. How do I know that Page 10
has a page break before it? The thing is a user has sent me this document
over to me to have a look at it so I do not know what has already been done.

Superfluous hard page break?

If you could point me in the right direction that would be helpful.

Many thanks,

Luke

Default Removing a page

Sorry Doug.

I have already done this so maybe I have not made myself clear.

Page 9 (the blank page) now has just a header and a footer. I have changed
the page setup layout to continuous as instructed. On page 9 I have header
section 3 which is taqkign up the whole page with the small break icon in the
corner. The footer is empty with just a break symbol in the corner. Both
header and footer are not linked to previous.

There is nothing on the page. I have a feeling that it has something to do
with Page 8 or 10 but is this something I should be looking at.

Many thanks Doug,

Luke
