Form Fields: protecting only some sections of a document
In Word 2003 I can't seem to find how to protect a section of a doucment into
which I have inserted form fields. There seems to be very littlereference to form field at all in the help files. I used to do this easily in Word 2000 but the protection seems to be rather different in Word 2003. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Tools | Protect Document. This opens the Protect Document task pane. That's
where most people get confused because there isn't anything obvious to do. But check the box for "Editing restrictions," and you'll then have the choice to select "Filling in forms." If you have more than one section in the document, you'll get the familiar dialog allowing you to select specific sections to protect. -- Suzanne S.
