Default Why do footers keep resetting themselves to "Same as Previous" in.

I'm using Word 2000 (I know, I know -- I'm a contractor and have no choice!)
and the footers keep resetting themselves to "same as previous". This is
messing up my page numbering, which is separate for the front matter and the
body of the document. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

Hi ?B?SnVsaWEgWmlvYnJv?=,

I'm using Word 2000 (I know, I know -- I'm a contractor and have no choice!)
and the footers keep resetting themselves to "same as previous". This is
messing up my page numbering, which is separate for the front matter and the
body of the document.

If the footers keep resetting, then most likely the section breaks are damaged.
Try selecting the text in each section - WITHOUT the section break, and at the
end without the last paragraph mark - and copy it to a new document. Recreate
each section in the new document.
