How do I type hiragana characters????????? I don't know, and I need it for an
assignment

A way to do it without using a Japanese IME is to use the Insert | Symbol
dialog (see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/InsertSpecChars.htm). In a
font that contains these characters (such as Arial Unicode MS), scroll down
to the Hiragana character subset and insert as required. This can be quite
tedious; you may want to assign keyboard shortcuts to the needed characters.
