Default Confirm text deletion in Word 2002

My Word 2002 always requires me to confirm that I want to delete text. I
don't want it to ask me that, but I can't find any way to shut it off. Any
ideas? It's probably simple, but I can't find it and I've been trying for
years.

From the Tools menu, select Options and then (I think) on the General tab,
but it may be the Edit tab, uncheck the two boxes about Help and Navigation
for WordPerfect users.

Hope this helps.
