Default Can I restore "Add to Dictionary" in Word; lost during changes.

I have found my word programme changing from the default language "English -
Ireland" to "French" and also to "English - US". As a result, I lost my
default dictionary. I have tried to restore the defauly dictionary - now
done. However, I have lost the "Add to Dictionary" prompt in "Grammar &
Spelling", so cannot correct any document by adding new words or introducing
new variants of the words in the dictionary (e.g. "summarise" for
"summarize").
Could this be related to working on a wireless network?

Default

This could happen if the language for the default dictionary (Custom.dic) is
set to a specific language (other than the one in use) instead of "All
languages." As for keeping the default language, see
