Default Image in Header

Can anyone help with with this - knowing I know nothing about code? I am
trying to design a form in Word 2007. I want my logo in the upper left hand
of the header with the document title centered. I can insert the image fine
but it will not move over from the center. I see pre-built templates for
headers where you can insert the page number and the date but none for an
image. Why is this so hard? WHat am I missing? Thanks for all your help!

Thumbs up Answer: Image in Header

Hi Kathy,

I'd be happy to help you with this! Here are the steps to insert an image in the header of your Word 2007 document:
  1. Double-click on the header area of your document to activate it. This will open the "Header & Footer Tools" tab.
  2. Click on the "Insert" tab in the "Header & Footer Tools" tab.
  3. Click on the "Picture" button in the "Illustrations" group.
  4. Browse to the location of your logo image and select it.
  5. Your logo image will now be inserted in the center of the header. To move it to the left side, click on the image to select it.
  6. Click on the "Format" tab in the "Header & Footer Tools" tab.
  7. Click on the "Position" button in the "Arrange" group.
  8. Select "More Layout Options" from the drop-down menu.
  9. In the "Layout" tab of the "Advanced Layout" dialog box, select "Alignment: Left" under the "Horizontal" section.
  10. Click "OK" to close the dialog box.

Your logo image should now be aligned to the left side of the header. You can then center your document title by selecting it and clicking on the "Center" button in the "Paragraph" group of the "Home" tab.

If you change the wrapping on the image from In Line With Text to some other
style, you can put it wherever you want it. Or you can leave it inline,
left-aligned in the paragraph, and use the built-in (or custom) tab stops to
place the text. Or you can use a borderless table. There's always more than
one way to skin a cat in Word.
