Referring a specific section of another document
How do you reference a specific section of another document?
Let's say I have one master document (master.doc) and another document (doc1.doc). In the master.doc, I want to refer a specific section from doc1.doc, but not the whole document. Is there any way to do it? |

Referring a specific section of another document
You can bookmark the section in doc1.doc.

Referring a specific section of another document
OK. Let's say I have two big documents - Master.doc and doc1.doc.
Master.doc would refer to certain sections of doc1.doc. For example, there will be sections 1-10 in doc1.doc. In Master.doc, I would like to show only section 1 in one paragrah, and then in another paragraph, only shows section 2. Do you know what I mean? "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote in message ... Referring a specific section of another document
Instead of referring to it, why not include it using an IncludeText field?
You can point the field to the bookmarked area of doc1.doc. Use Insert | File and type the bookmark name as the "range." -- Suzanne S. This would work if only it links to doc1.doc and updates Master.doc
automatically. "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote in message ... Instead of referring to it, why not include it using an IncludeText field? You can point the field to the bookmarked area of doc1.doc. Referring a specific section of another document
It will not magically update behind the scenes, but when you open Master.doc
and update the IncludeText field, then it will pull the most recent version from doc1.doc.
