In the field's Properties dialog, if you leave the Default Text box empty, Word will use five nonbreaking spaces to create the shading. You can enter more nonbreaking spaces (Ctrl+Shift+spacebar) in the Default Text to extend the shading. Be aware that the field uses proportionally sized characters (for example, an m is wider than an i), so the spaces probably won't show exactly how wide the entry can be. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |
