Center Tables with Indent
Lets say I have some body text that is indented to 1.0 inch. Now if I create
a table and center it, it gets centered between the right and left page margins. Is there any way to make it centered between the 1.0 inch left indent and the right page margin? I know if I go to Table Properties that I can specify an indent, but only if it is left aligned. If I try to center it, then I can no longer specify any left indent. This seems like it would be very basic and I can't believe that I can't figure it out...and I'd assume Microsoft must have thought about this as it is a very common thing to do. Any help is greatly appreciated! |

You'd be amazed at all the things MSFT has not tought about! In their defense, it is quite a large application... One way of doing what you want is to sandwich your table between two continuous section breaks, set the left margin of that small section to one inch, then center the table. |

Wow, there is no easier way?! Oh well...guess I'll have to try to make it work the best I can anyways. Does Word 2007 have the ability I mentioned? Well, my suggestion is not all that hard to implement... ;-) A few mouse clicks... And no, I do not think that Word 2007 offers anything different in that regard. |
