Default Control box

I just created a document with control boxes and got it protected. However,
when I tried to access the document after I've saved and closed it, I can't
fill in the boxes. What am I doing wrong?

Have you used checkboxes from the Forms toolbar (which is what you need) or
the Control Toolbox (which won't work with protection)?

Unless you are programming, never use Checkboxes from the Controls Toolbox.
There are a number of ways to create and use clickable checkboxes in
documents / templates. Some require protected or locked forms, others do
not. Take a look at the Checkbox template available at
http://www.addbalance.com/word/downl...#CheckboxAddIn for an exploration
of these.
