Default how do i put a table of contents into columns

I want to be able to display my table of contents (that was automatically
generated) in two columns.

When I simply highlight the TOC and press 2 columns, I loose the page numbers.

You may have better luck if you create two columns before generating the
TOC. If not, you'll need to manually edit the TOC styles to move the right
tab stop.

How do you manually edit the TOC styles to move the right tab stop without
losing the tab leader?

You may need to restore the leader (through Format | Tabs) after moving the
tab stop.
