Default Auto Lists

I am trying to create a list in word on a line, which users can select from a
drop down list of choices to enter. Can someone please help and send me the
solution to my problem.
I tried using lists and a button but the button does not work and the list
just shows the first entry in my list.

Richard,
Is this a form you are working on?
If so, maybe it is just a matter of locking the form, use the lock button on
the forms toolbar, it's the last one.
