header field value
I'm working with a DOC made by someone else. The header includes
((JobTitle)), which shows up under Field name in the Field Dialog box (the middle of 3 columns in the box). It seems to be a reference to the Job Title for which this contract document was created, and repeats on all pages, but I can't find a way for having the document display the actual job title, such as A BIG PROJECT, in place of ((JobTitle)). Any guidance? Thanks. PD |

header field value
Hi PD,
If you press Alt-F9 to expose the document's field codes, you might see something like: {DOCPROPERTY JobTitle} If you go to File|Properties|Custom, you should be able to find a field there with that name. Changing the value of that field will update the document. Alternatively, if you see something like: {STYLEREF JobTitle} That means there's a paragraph in the body of the document formatted in the JobTitle Style and holding the Job Title. Editing the Job Title there will update the information in the header. When you're done, press Alt-F9 again to hide the field codes. -- Cheers macropod [Microsoft MVP - Word] "PD" (donotspam) wrote in message ... I'm working with a DOC made by someone else.
