Default Can you have multiple indexes in Word 97

A single index sorts the entries alphanumerically which puts them in the
'wrong' order for me. Is it possible to have multiple indexes so that I can
manually select which entries go into each index list?

Or you might prefer to just type "multiple indexes" in the search box like I
did.
