why can't i open a file as its not available?
When i go to open and click on a word document it comes up with "the file
blah blah is not available". This started after i tried to open a 2007 office word document (i have office 2003) in an email attachment. Any help would be really appreciated. |

Also i did what others suggested and unchecked office plug-in in Norton and it didn't work |

*Where* are you clicking this 'file' in order to open it?

In my documents folder- they are just normal Word files/documents and just

why can't i open a file as its not available?
I am having the same problem .. I have vista-64, AVG antivirus package. I can't access any of my Word documents, it says they are not available, but I see them there and when I go to properties everything looks like its working. I've tried to repair MS Office in the add/remove program section .. also tried to open and repair within the open document section of the program. my AVG attempted an update a couple days ago which installed ok, I thought, but then AVG stopped working .. have an email into tech support & waiting their response. Pretty sure this has something to do with the anti-virus program problem as well. Just don't know how to fix the darn thing .. :-( |

I would be inclined to download a new copy of AVG -
http://free.avg.com/ww.download?prd=afe disconnect your PC from the internet, uninstall AVG then reinstall it.
