Help wanted - how to paste link from Excel to MS Word fields
I have a problem with MS Office 2003. I need to produce few hundreds
printed documents of one page each. For the printed document I have a protected MS Word template which has several fields - I can write or paste text on the fields and the print the document. The data is in Excel. In other words, I should open the word template, copy about 50 text items or numbers froms excel to the Word document, print it, and next do the same for next 50 items, print the page and repeat this about 500 times. You bet I'm not going to do this manual copy & paste one by one! The solution I first though was to link fields from Excel to the fields on the Word form, and make Excel macro that copies each group of data on the linked fields on by one. That way I could print the form, run the macro, refreh the Word form and print again (even better if the Excel macro could comment Word to refresh and print). However, that doesn't work because the Word temple is protected and I cannot unprotect it. There is no "paste link" option available on the form, only "paste as nested table". I need to use exactly this form with correct dimensions and graphichs. I can't copy the Word form and paste it on new unprotected document because all the cut and copy options are disabled by the protection. Any advice? |
