How was the watermark inserted? Is it possible that the watermark is being
inserted at print time by the printer driver? Some printers are equipped to do this. -- Suzanne S. If you use the white arrow selector from the drawing toolbar with the header
view open and click in the area of the document where the watermark appears, can you select an 'image' even an apparently blank image? -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org VikiQ wrote: Word 2003: I cannot see my watermark in any view - I am able to print the watermark. Cannot See Watermark
I suspect this is simply a display issue. I have a very pale graphic
background in part of my personal letterhead which prints fine, but is impossible to see unless the header view is open. As you can select the image try making it a tad darker and see if that helps. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org VikiQ wrote: Yes - can select image in header - do not see the text unless editing "Graham Mayor" wrote: If you use the white arrow selector from the drawing toolbar with the header view open and click in the area of the document where the watermark appears, can you select an 'image' even an apparently blank image? -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org VikiQ wrote: Word 2003: I cannot see my watermark in any view - I am able to print the watermark. I agree I think we have a display issue - perhaps further background to the
problem is needed here. We are a firm of 40+ users of which 3 cannot see the watermark. The watermark is our firm name set up in our letterhead template running vertically down the left hand side from page 2 onwards. Our problem being the firm name X, X & Y has now changed to simply X X. If one of the 3 users who cannot see the watermark pull up an old letter and reuse it they are not seeing the old firm name unless they go into edit the actual text in the watermark. We really do not want to make the watermark any darker for the sake of 3 users - your further thoughts very much appreciated. "Graham Mayor" wrote: I suspect this is simply a display issue. Cannot See Watermark
The three users probably need to adjust the contrast of their displays.

If adjusting the brightness and the contrast of the monitor and downloading
the latest display driver doesn't fix it, I have no other suggestions. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org VikiQ wrote: I agree I think we have a display issue - perhaps further background to the problem is needed here. Cannot See Watermark
Your mention that it is on the side suggests to me that perhaps those users
have white space between pages suppressed (see http://sbarnhill.mvps.org/WordFAQs/WhiteSpace.htm). I was quite thrown when I first discovered (through a similar experience) that hiding the white space actually hides anything in (or anchored to) the header and footer, even if it runs down the side of the page. -- Suzanne S.
