Styles and language
in word upto 2003, the language used to be part of a style. In word 2007 it
seems as if that is not the case anymo the dialog box only presents me with the option of setting the language for "selected text", and the verbal description of the style does not mention a language. Am I missing something, or has the "style" concept indeed changed in word 2007? |

"Language" is the fifth choice down on the Format button of both the
New Style and the Modify Style panel. On Sep 24, 7:38*am, mabel wrote: in word upto 2003, the language used to be part of a style. It's still part of a style. Yes, it is true that even when you are
modifying a style, the dialog box says that it's applying the language to the selected text - I think that is an error in Word as it is only actually applying the language to the style AFAICS. Be extra-careful if you have languages enabled that may use (say) both R-L and L-R scripts - then you get an extra dropdown under "Formatting" in "Modify Style" which lets you choose "Latin" or "Complex". If you need to change the "Latin" language, make sure the dropdown shows Latin before you change the language, because there will typically be two language choices, one for Latin and one for Complex.
