Default how to run word 6.0 on windows 2000?

Until recently downloading a media player from the net, I have been able to
run Windows 6.0 and an early version of excel in my windows 2000 operating
system. Now I simply get a message, "...AUTO EXEC.NT not suitable for running
MS-DOS and Microsoft windows applications," when I try to run. How can I get
those programs to run?

Try uninstalling MediaPlayer -- but chances are you'll have to reinstall
Windows 2000 to restore the earlier versions of whatever DLLs etc were
modified. You've just met Microsoft's forced upgrade strategy.

See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=324767 "Error message when you
install or start an MS-DOS or 16-bit Windows-based program".
