Puzzling deleted Word docs
Hi,
I need to explain the following behaviour of Word: For every current document "abc.doc" there exist several older versions, with exactly the same name, as deleted files with deleted directory entries, in addition to the usual deleted "~WRD....TMP" and "~WRL...TMP" files. Not "~$c.doc" or similar, always the full file name "abc.doc". I have not been able to reproduce this behaviour using Word settings. It would be very important for me to know, if Word, under the correct circumstances, shows this behaviour, or if these files are created in some other way. Thanks, Thomas |

If the files you are finding are not temp files then they have been
created/deleted in some other way. It could be your virus scanner, a third party add-in, or a virus. -- Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Have you inspected these files to see if the icon includes the "shortcut"
arrow? -- Suzanne S.
