2007 Normal Template
My Normal.dotx (or dotm) is no where to be found. I open word. I know where
it is directed to. I have tried Alt, T, I and then clicked Attched (the Document Template comes up with Normal). when I get there, there is no normal anything... I want to start from scratch with the normal.dotx that word came with to set up my company's standards. I have tried putting in my old normal.dot from 2003 but it kept coming up with (Companitibliy Mode) in the title bar so I thought I'd better start from scratch - only I can't find the orignal normal for 2007. Anyone? |

Did you check "Show Hidden Files" before you ran the Search?

2007 Normal Template
I found the answer on another website. It says that there is no normal.dotx
or m that is automatically generated - as lower versions of word did. So I installed my old normal.dot and saved it as a normal.dotm. It seems to work, so I will have to go with that for now. Thanks "grammatim" wrote: Did you check "Show Hidden Files" before you ran the Search? On Jun 16, 2:10 pm, Maria wrote: My Normal.dotx (or dotm) is no where to be found. I open word. I find that rather hard to believe. (I certainly ddin't do anything to
create a normal.dotx!) What kind of website was it? What happens with Office Button Open Templates (top item on the list at the left)? 2007 Normal Template
Until I installed my first macro a few weeks ago, I had only a
normal.dotx. Installing the macro changed it to a .dotm. You can find the correct path by clicking the arrow on the right side of the "Look in" bar on the Open dialog. You may have to scroll up to see all the way to C: BTW, W2007 act the same as its predecessors, if you delete normal.dotm, Word will replace it. 2007 Normal Template
Well then I have a very confused computer because there was no normal.dotm
there. I do know about the deleting rules and where to find normal. The site where I found the "no normal.dotm" information seemed reputable but who knows. Thank for all your help anyway, but I have worked around it by installing my old version and modifying it from there. Thanks.
