to further clarify: i deleted the font file, it does not exist on my
harddrive anymore that I know of, but when I am in Word and picking a text
they are still listed (even though if you select it a generic text
appears).....so how do I delete it from the program

Default How do I delete the font from the font folder

Word will always display the name of font that has been applied to text,
even if it is not installed. This is a convenience so that you know what
font to install if you want to view the document as intended. The font
itself is not displayed; Word substitutes another font for display purposes.
If you want to eliminate the display of a given font name in a document, you
must apply a different font to the text.

[...] you must apply a different font to the text.

.... or choose another font in Tools Compatibility Font substitution,
then "convert permanently".

Problem: a few weeks before I found and bought the fort 'Kab' I entered it into the fojnt menu in word. Now that I have downloaded the font into the font in the control panel it doesn't correspond to the one in word.

Okay i understand all of that and Klaus I get what you are saying...
can someone help me with finding that same 'font substitution' with word
office 2007 please.
It wont work and I am afraid I have a newer version of word then you do.

Office Button Word Options Advanced scroll down to Show Document
Content, it's the last item before the next batch. I'd recommend
putting it in the QAT (just right-click on the button) if you're ever
going to need it again!

What won't work?

Sorry, but I don't know what you're saying your problem is. Could you
start at the beginning and say what _you_, not mickey or Klaus, want
to do that is not getting done?
